The Judith Campbell Scholarship is awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a four year college or university, a community college or trade/technical school. Applicants must be attending a high school in San Diego County at the time of application and have a minimum GPA of 2.75. The purpose of the scholarship is to financially assist deserving students who might not be able to attend college due to financial constraints.

Dennison Family Scholarship

We are grateful to the Dennison Family for their generous contribution to the Judith Campbell Educational and Community Foundation. Their contribution will be dedicated to specific scholarships for students interested in pursuing studies in engineering. Interested applicants may apply by completing the scholarship application included on this website.

Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria

Meaningful Student Essay

Applicants need to demonstrate ability to overcome personal obstacles, as well as a strong commitment to continuing personal growth and development through higher education

Demonstrated Financial Need

This scholarship is for students who demonstrate a desire to create impact in their future but need help financially to make their dreams come true.

Academic Potential

We are looking for students who demonstrate academic standing and/or the potential for success. We are looking for hard workers


Community Engagement

We are looking for students who are engaged in their community through involvement in extra-curricular, community service and/or work activities

One Letter of Recommendation

Appropriate recommenders include: high school teacher, counselor, coach or school administrator; employer; staff where student volunteers or interns

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?

If you need financial assistance in order to attend college (this applies to middle class families as well), and have:

• A commitment to your education
• Potential for success in college
• A minimum GPA of 2.75
• Participation in community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience
• Are a current residence in San Diego County (for at least one year)
• Have completed a FAFSA application or CA Dream Act and Student Aid Report (SAR). This is necessary for all applicants.

Will scholarship funds be sent to me?

Scholarship checks are issued once we have received all necessary verification documents. Scholarship checks are designated for the student and are mailed directly to your school’s financial aid or scholarships office or housing entity. In accordance with Internal Revenue Service Regulations (IRS), we cannot make scholarship payments directly to the student.

Can I apply for a scholarship again next year?

Yes, if you are maintaining a satisfactory grade point average, are not on academic probation and are otherwise meeting all of your collegiate commitments and obligations, you may reapply again next year. Please contact the JCEC Foundation at admin@jcecfoundation.org to reapply.
